About Our Buckwheat Hull Organic Zafu
Organic buckwheat hulls provide proper support with no break-in period — feels like sitting on sand!
While still providing all the support of a traditional kapok-filled zafu, the Buckwheat Hull Zafu conforms more readily to each innavidual’s shape and is somewhat softer. It is like sitting on sand at the beach – the hulls move to where you want them.
We stuff our Organic Buckwheat Hull Zafu with approximately 4 1/2 lbs. of organic buckwheat hulls enclosed in a zippered certified organic cotton shell making it easy to add/remove buckwheat. The Buckwheat Hull Zafu measures 15″ in diameter with a 5 1/2″ loft. Made of durable 9 oz., certified 100% organic cotton duck fabric, colored using eco-friendly, low-impact dyes. Includes carrying handle. Removable zippered cover for easy washing.
About our Organic Zabuton Mat
The foundation cushion for your zafu (round sitting cushion) or meditation bench. A zabuton (pron. zah’-boo-tawn) provides essential cushioning for your ankles and knees when sitting cross-legged on a zafu or on a meditation bench.
Years of Zen Center living have gone into the design of this mat. Eight pounds of U.S.-grown, certified organic cotton batting are stuffed into a certified organic cotton shell and tufted in four places to form a permanent inner cushion. A snug-fitting zippered cover made from durable 9 oz., certified 100% organic cotton duck fabric, colored using eco-friendly, low-impact dyes, is slipped over the inner cushion and tufted in the center for a finished look.
No need to replace the entire zabuton if the cover becomes soiled. Simply clip the center tuft and remove the cover. All covers are washable and new covers may be ordered.
