A no-slip micro ringed cut nose provides a reference point before moving on to a smooth flat area which is where Joe grips the barrel. Following on from here is the Chainsaw grip which features steep shark fins that alter in size to enhance the contact point on the edges and resemble the teeth of a chainsaw.
